About the Journal

Legatum: Political and Constitutional Law (Sinta …, p-ISSN: ……, e-ISSN: ……) is a peer-reviewed academic journal published and managed by the Faculty of Sharia (Fakultas Syariah), UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi. The journal is issued biannually (… and …) and has been in continuous publication since …. Legatum is dedicated to advancing scholarly discourse on political science, constitutional law, and governance studies, particularly within the context of constitutional development, democratic practices, and public institutions in Indonesia and comparative global perspectives.

Since its establishment, Legatum has consistently published rigorous and authoritative articles that address both theoretical and empirical dimensions of political and constitutional studies. The journal serves as an academic forum for critical reflection and interdisciplinary dialogue on issues of constitutionalism, state institutions, public power, and democratic governance.

The journal welcomes original research articles, conceptual papers, and critical analyses that fall within, but are not limited to, the following fields:

1. Political and Constitutional Law:
constitutional theory, constitutional interpretation, constitutional courts and judicial review, separation of powers, rule of law, protection of constitutional rights, and comparative constitutional law.

2. Politics and Governance:
political institutions, democratic theory and practice, political parties and elections, public policy, decentralization and local governance, political accountability, and good governance.

3. State, Law, and Society:
law and politics, legal pluralism and constitutional order, state–society relations, administrative law, public ethics, and the interaction between constitutional law and socio-political dynamics.

The editorial policy of Legatum: Political and Constitutional Law prioritizes manuscripts that contribute meaningfully to broader academic and policy debates in political and constitutional studies. Submissions are expected to demonstrate analytical rigor, originality, and relevance for scholars, policymakers, and practitioners. Manuscripts that fall outside the scope of political science, constitutional law, and governance studies will not be considered for publication.
